About Aron Quadu

Aron Quadu is a half-Belgian, half-Italian director and visual artist with roots in Sardinia and a creative base in Belgium. After studying at the Istituto Statale d’Arte Filippo Figari in Sassari, he moved to Belgium to pursue film directing and television at the Royal Institute for Theatre, Cinema and Sound (RITCS) in Brussels.

During his studies, Aron developed as a filmmaker and photographer with a strong focus on emotionally driven and intimate storytelling. He combines his academic path with freelance work in photography, film, and video, characterized by a personal, raw, and visually minimal style.

Aron has directed several short films, including Onvoltooid Verleden Tijd (2021), which follows the complex journey of a woman during World War II, and Zwart Verleden (2023), a film exploring the moral dilemmas of Flemish volunteers on the Eastern Front. His most recent work, BENNY (2025), won Best Film at the 48 Hour Film Project in Antwerp and will represent the city at Filmapalooza 2026. This project highlights his talent for crafting sharp, intimate, and emotionally charged narratives.

In addition to his film work, Aron is active as a photographer specializing in emotionally intimate portraits that explore themes of vulnerability, identity, and human connection. His artistic practice aims to push boundaries, break conventions, and tell stories that are honest, personal, and powerful.

With a fearless approach to storytelling and a commitment to authenticity, Aron Quadu continues to carve a distinctive path in contemporary cinema — one that invites audiences to see the world through a lens of empathy, introspection, and raw human emotion.
